Hello ladies and Greg. It was wonderful to see all of you tonight and it was great to see two new visitors in the group. Congrats to PENNY ELLISON for winning the inaugural prize for getting the right answer to this week’s “Queen Quiz”. And a big THANK YOU to Penny Ellison for the beautiful crown pin!!
Tonight’s topic: SNACKING and SLEEPING:
SNACKING: We all know how dangerous sugar is to us if not eaten correctly, so always remember that every time sugar (or carbs) go into your mouth, your insulin spikes which can not only cause weight gain, but also keeps you hungry throughout the day… thus making you feel the need to eat more and more.
Hint: If necessary, stick to proteins, vegetables and cheeses as go-to snacks to keep those dangerous insulin spikes at bay.
SLEEPING: As you all know sleep is a vital part of life but I don’t think we understood what a critical weight management tool it is.
Having less sleep actually INCREASES your insulin. Insulin is what needs to be avoided like the plague and yet we are unaware of its ability to spike while we sleep. Unbelieveable. Do whatever you have to to get at least 8 hours of sleep per night. Getting 8 solid hours is a huge factor in maintaining your weight loss.
Hint: Look for MELATONIN at GNC, EarthFare and other natural food stores.
