As always, it was so great to see all of you again this evening.  The progress you all are making is remarkable and I still can’t believe the enormous transformations that you all have each week.

Congratulations to LINDA RIGGS for winning the question of the week!!

Tonight’s Topic:  EATING TOWARDS YOUR CARBS

As we all know, this program is temporary…but food is forever!!  

Protocol is where you take the weight off.   Maintenence is where you establish your new weight.  And Live your Life is keeping that weight off and never letting it come back again.

To be successful in Live Your Life, you must follow a few simple rules:

Carbs/Sugar consumption spikes your insulin.  When your insulin spikes more than once a day, you go into “saving mode” meaning your body stores the carbs as fat.  It’s as simple as that. 

To keep this from happening, limit your carbs to once day, if that.  When it is time to bring carbs/sugar into the mix, make sure you eat towards your carbs, meaning eat your proteins and vegetables first.  Then eat your carbs/sugar.  You can still have whatever you want just eat them at the end of your meal.  This guards against having multiple insulin spikes which sends your body into “saving mode” thus creating weight gain.

Also, finish your meal within 60 minutes.  That allows plenty of time to enjoy but doesn’t set your body up for a second insulin surge.

 It’s win/win.  You can still have whatever you want to eat, only now you are going to know how and when to eat to insure that these amazing results you have had are forever.
